VexCare – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how VexCare, developed by Grunter Services ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the VexCare mobile application ("the App").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following personal information when you register and use the App:

• Full name — used to identify your account
• Email address — used for authentication and communication
• Town/location — used to display relevant network alerts for your area
• Device information — including your device's push notification token, used to send you app notifications
• Support ticket content — messages and replies you submit through the App

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your VexCare account
• Provide internet support services through the ticketing system
• Send you push notifications about ticket updates and network alerts
• Display relevant network status information for your area
• Communicate with you regarding your support requests

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Google Firebase — for user authentication, data storage (Firestore), and cloud functions. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
• Expo — for push notification delivery. Expo's privacy policy applies: expo.dev/privacy
• Cloudflare — for the in-app speed test feature. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
• Google Gemini AI — for the VexChat feature. Google's privacy policy applies.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase servers located in the Johannesburg, South Africa region (africa-south1). We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights (POPIA)

In accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Object to the processing of your personal information
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

7. Children's Privacy

The VexCare App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
